7th Annual Gayle Brinkenhoff Breast Cancer Symposium
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, affecting over 330,000 women last year alone. Due to the number of clinical advances and recent publications, the need to understand genetic variants and mutations has increased in order to aide physicians to maintain current knowledge and competence in application. This program will bridge the gap of current practice to include recent developments in disease classification, molecular biology, diagnostic algorithms, testing modalities and therapeutic advances.
Physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, advanced trainees and all other allied health care professionals interested in the treatment of patients with breast cancer.
- Outline recent developments in the diagnosis, classification, and molecular biology of breast cancer.
- Identify the impact and role of targeted and personalized therapy in the treatment of breast cancer.
- Discuss the role of new immunology insights in breast cancer etiology and treatment.
- Manage challenging diagnoses with the implementation of new technology and testing modalities.
